Lack of stability will have that program in a constant flux until someone actually stays...

Nobody should apply for the Carolina Job. The school climate is horrible and the last coach was done rather dirty. The teaching part of it is also a nightmare.

One of the worst head coaching jobs in America, not just SC.

What does everybody think both Great Falls and Carolina High need in order to turn things around? My guess is something different. Maybe they need to take a chance on somebody that isn’t a name. Somebody that is willing to blaze a different path.

ask Mark Hodge. Before he went to Chapman he saw success at Carolina which as all have pointed out is difficult to say the least. Hodge spent 3 seasons there and won 4, 5 and then 7 games respectively each of his 3 seasons there going 7-5 the year before he left for Chapman. Doug Shaw went 6-5 I believe his last year there before heading to Mauldin. So you can win but I'm sure it takes someone talented like the aforementioned coaches. Unfortunately Carolina like many GCSD jobs becomes a spring board to more desirable jobs.

Great Falls should be good to go. I'm saying the athletes are there, they play in the lowest classification. Someone with even half a clue should do well there. The issue there is numbers, so someone who can rally the troops/community should do well

Carolina, I think they are 3A, a much bigger problem. There are schools that have seemingly never had success, for whatever reason. IMO they need someone that will commit to stay there long term and build the program from the ground up. Gotta be someone that can connect to the local community

Guessing they don't pay well, but nobody does over there

The Great Falls job is very appealing in my opinion. They have always had athletes and I remember when they could hang with just about anyone.

Great Falls, in my opinion, is a great opportunity for the following:

1. Coach wanting his first HC job
2. Older, experienced HC who wants to run a program without as many "moving parts"
3. Long-time assistant nearing retirement looking for a bump in pay for retirement purposes
4. Retired coach who just wants to coach and not teach(if GFHS is open to that type of arrangement)

The problem for GFHS with these scenarios is that none of them are likely to be in for the long run.

I know this has most likely drawn interest from guys in York, Chester, Kershaw, Fairfield, Richland, and Lancaster counties and probably beyond.

New Football Coaches for Loris and Socastee

The [Socastee] Braves hired North Rowan (N.C.) head man Ben Hampton and Loris approved Richlands (Va.) coach Greg Mance.

Two more openings filled with out-of-state hires.
