when School starts up and a teacher or student gets
the virus the school will shut down again.the way
this virus is hanging around it is almost impossible
for a teacher or student NOT get the virus .
just my opinion.

Wait, hold on, you had it in September and it was confirmed? I would, seriously, alert authorities. They have said MANY times that the earliest transmission in the United States was in January and the earliest worldwide was in early December, late November. If you had a CONFIRMED case, as you say, in September, you COULD be a major part of this COVID-19 puzzle. You should contact the CDC immediately.SF Band dad wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 10:40 pmPenguin wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 6:34 pm…. Worth and back in mid-December and I'm convinced I brought it home with me. Worst respiratory infection ever, I almost went to the ER, took me about 6 weeks to get over it. I plan to get tested for antibodies.

Also, just a note for anyone who thinks they had it last year, the WHO and CDC have said multiple times the earliest anyone had it was in November (worldwide) and . Just because you have antibodies in your system does not mean you had COVID back in October of last year. The antibodies could be from you having it two months ago but you never had any symptoms because almost 60% of people, who get the virus, are completely asymptomatic.SF Band dad wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 10:40 pmPenguin wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 6:34 pm…. You make extremely valid points. From what I am hearing, every district will be very different, that seems to be the approach the Governor and SCHSL are allowing. They aren't demanding anything, just allowing the local districts to make decisions. So, for example, a game at Summerville might allow only season ticket holders and reserve 500 tickets for visitors (forcing them to buy in advance) and if they don't by a certain time, those tickets would go on sale to the general public. You will also likely see some kind of "assigned seating" at games. The biggest question is how will student sections be handled? You also might see more college campuses opening up stadiums for big games, similar to what we are seeing for high school and prep level baseball around the country (with minor league baseball stadiums opening up to them). This allows the schools to sell more tickets and keep the social distancing.Rebel-Fan-74 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 3:53 pmThis will bring about several new issues:FootballFan4343 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 2:50 pmIt seems like having games actually happen is a done deal. The question remains the amount of fans in stands. The talk is to limit capacity, anywhere from 25% up to 75%. If capacity is limited to 50%, this really won't be a big deal for 90% of the games around the state. Very few games have more than 50% capacity. Sure, major region games and rivalries pack out, but not all games do that. Stadiums that seat 6-7k routinely only have 2-3k there, so we wouldn't see a major change on most games. Where schools would lose revenue potential would be those "money games". But, with all of that said, even without restrictions, we are likely to see attendance take a dip this year as most grandparents and other elderly fans could potentially stay home.
Who gets tickets and who doesn't?
Do parents and other family members get priority, then students?
Season ticket holders get in next?
What about visiting team's fans?
I would think that a priority listing would have to be put in place. While the attendance figures you mention may be true at some facilities, that is not the norm at Byrnes, Dorman, Gaffney and several other shools in our area. Chapman is usually standing room only on the home side for most games, Union County and Greer pack them in as well. As for the "money games" that you mention; there could be overflow crowds where finding a seat 45 minutes before kickoff is difficult on the home side and impossible on the visitor side.
I don't claim to have the answer, but my two cents worth would be, you have to give family members and students priority on available tickets. After that, no matter what you do, you will make folks angry so there would be no correct answer.
So, you might see playoff games for Myrtle Beach being held at Coastal or an Upper/Lower State Championship game at South Carolina State/Wofford. Or even some bigger schools, with turf fields, working together with other schools on their off weeks. IE: Spartanburg/Dorman allowing Champan to lose its facilities for big games.
It seems the entire book is open right now for ideas.

"Dr. Anthony Fauci says football teams would need to emulate plans by the NBA and MLS for a "bubble" format or consider not playing in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Fauci is the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and a key member of the White House task force on the virus. He told CNN that football players would need to be isolated from others and tested regularly." ESPN report, 18 June, 2020.

I'm in agreement with this statement. All it will take is one positive and the doors will be shut!

I agree....besides, why is a left wing clown from California worried about a small school from North Carolina?
