Region One Championship on the line Friday???

Post by Rebel-Fan-74 »

How many of you had the Region decided in week one of Region Play over in Region One?

Yeah, me too... I gave it to Greenwood back in August, but Hillcrest may have something going on over there in Simpsonville and when the Eagles come to town, you can be sure they are not taking anything for granted. I looked at Hillcrest's 2-0 start and said, "Yeah, but who have they played?" Then 21-19 loss to Dorman that some of my Dorman friends said was not a fluke, they are a good football team! made me wonder.... Can they actually stay with Greenwood? <--- I still can't even make myself say, "Can they BEAT Greenwood?"

Who'd a thunk it?

I'm thinking about entering the transfer portal!

Same here.
I expected HIllcrest to be a player in the region, (not for the title) but a very competitive team.
Having seen them in person last year, you could see that their talent level had increased.
A quick glance of the program also revealed that most of it was coming back. :o

I couldn't pick Hillcrest, but I expect a tough game.

Maybe (just maybe) they are catching Cathcart's bunch before they've had time to mature. :?:

If Greenwood understands that the Region title could be on the line, it might not be good for Hillcrest.
As my Green Wave found out last year,
the last thing you want is Greenwood's full and undivided attention. :(

Last year, it pretty much meant anyone in any Region.
They did go 15-0. ;)

7-0 vs teams in Region One
8-0 vs teams from the other Regions

I'm not gonna lie. I'm nervous about this one. However, it's kind of exciting at the same time ! Mean Green hit it right on the head with Greenwood's maturity level. My Eagles have come a Looong way from week one though.

We'll see, I know we're a tad bit off this year but I still don't think we are THAT down. Certainly I'm not trying to take away from Hillcrest. I guess the notion is basically since we aren't whipping people by thirty not including the traditional Power houses we play but others, we are vulnerable. Let me tell ya, we may be young but that still doesn't change the fact that Greenwood is young and TALENTED! Once the kids learn how to REALLY play at the varsity level.....look out !

Should be a good game.

But this is "THIS YEAR"... and right now they are focused on REGION ONE

Congrats to the Hillcrest Rams!!!

I've never made it a secret that I was a big Greenwood fan and have always supported them and their fans but to see Hillcrest mature and make this run at success is heartening. I always thought it was Easley who was going to answer the call in region one but now the Hillcrest Rams appear to be in the driver's seat.
