Dubose did what he could to clean house, but unfortunately got stuck with Mac's son...which was likely part of the deal for Mac stepping down.

Not sure we'l get football this year but if there's a season, Emerald won't be very good...
You don't think Emerald will bring that Abbeville mentality to the field?
I think they will have the Abbeville mentality but not the Abbeville talent.
Emerald has every bit of the skill talent that Abbeville does. The problem at Emerald was discipline. McMahon let the players walk all over him.

Dubose can clean that up, but it will take some time.

I do think that Liner is going to poach some of the kids that Emerald was getting for a little while. That group is all but gone from Emerald now and their record last season showed that.

I know two of the new coaches over at EHS and I agree they are excited to get to work! I think that they will have good leadership under Tad if he is allowed to do his thing without interference.

Emerald lost arguably their best assistant (other than Brian Neal) to Greenwood High.

Dubose did a heck of a job filling some spots, but really missed some opportunities by keeping a few too many holdovers from Mac's staff.

Sargent will be good addition that could get cancelled out by a conniving Mac Jr.

Seems like what used to be a very mentally weak bunch are starting to play through tough games. That's a good look for Dubose, even if their record doesn't reflect it.

Those Emerald teams used to lay down when Mac was the coach. They'd get down and completely lose control.

I do think he's going to lose some quality talent to Greenwood High if he continues to run such a tight ship, but that kind of control is needed after the debacle that was the last few seasons.

Looking like back to back 2 win seasons for Emerald. Tough region, but still underrated talent at that school. Feels like that big offensive line was wasted.

The grass isn’t always greener.

They’ve had some injuries, but they also need to make some sweeping changes offensively. Lots of good RBs and some talent outside at receiver, but they don’t (can’t?) throw the ball worth a lick.

I can't for the life of me understand how Emerald loses like this. They have some big talented kids and come from the same mold that Greenwood does.

I agree. Having the right attitude and more nastyness will get them over. It's literally the same kids as Greenwood just less in numbers. They're in a tough region but no reason to be losing 40 and 50 to nothing. I'm sure coach Tad is trying to establish things.

The Mentality is so different at Emerald. I have talked to a couple assistants there and it's night and day from abbeville. They got a good coaching staff I also hear it's some super great talent there also. Gotta establish a footbball committed culture there. Tough going in that region this year for sure. Tad will get them together

Didn't have my readers on....thought the title was "Ted DiBiase"

Thought the Million Dollar Man was coaching HS football after retiring from "rasslun' "

Disappointed...
