I don't usually have this level of anticipation for football, but damn I'm ready to see some ball. Will be hoping and praying for the best outcome in each contest this year.....that the virus can be flattened as we go about some much needed recreation. I'm not panicked but part of my mind all season long will be lingering on the virus and it's activity. To be clear I don't want to have the transmission rate increase as a result of the games because I want as few people as possible getting this bug and having their health endagered.

I'll be doing my part and very vigilant. I hope I'm not being naive by thinking we can enjoy football and get a grip on this pandemic at the same time. If things go south I'll surely be willing to abide by a change of plans. I feel like the way the U was organized during graduation will be a guide for how to proceed with the football season. Seems like the fans will be able minimize risks. I really don't see how there isn't going to be further transmition between the kids. Yes, they would likely weather an infection but then their families will be at higher risk. I'm sure during practice that will all play out but then when kids travel cross town it seems reasonable to assume there will be risks there with a full contact sport.

I guess it's like rollercoasters and other thrill rides.....we'll weigh the reward to resource ratio and assume risk management.
I'm ready to go though.

Dang right I will be there. At least Friday. Not as excited about Thursdays lineup. A lot about this virus is waaaaay overblown. Most of it political. And apparently it was just fine for 50k to gather on the mall in Washington DC over the weekend. Not a soul on any of the networks that have preached living in the basement for the last 6 months gave the virus even a mention. Cant live in a bunker.

Yeah, I can see how 6 million Americans having the virus is waaay overblown. So is the 182,000 deaths. Just numbers, they don't represent anything significant, like lives, or anything.

There is nobody stopping you from doing whatever you choose to do, so your marginalizing those who choose to take this serious is about as stupid as anything that I have come across in a while. If someone else sticks their head in a woodchipper, no reason for you not to either.

Forgive me if this comes off as me wagging my finger but...

Two subjects seem permissible on a football related conversation.

Football and the virus.

Politics should be left out. Pardon the pun.

I’m crossing my fingers that mods will try and edit out or correct this. If you want to talk politics, make a separate OT thread.
