Of course the standard answer is, "We'll just play one game at a time."
Yes yes, I know that but Gaffney improved a good deal last Friday by beating Dorman in a close game. Some might say it was more of an exposure of Dorman and some would argue it was more of Gaffney turning a corner. I guess I'd say a little of both. Dorman is struggling a bit. Nothing has been easy for them this year.
Question is does Gaffney continue to improve? Where do the Indian fans think they are as far as the Vikes, Rebels, or other teams?
So where does Gaffney go from here?

I think people tried to downplay and ignore how much of a difference not having Shaq in at QB made.. imagine the Redskins without RGIII!! Same thing without Eddie Studyvance on defense.. both have their respective leaders back now.. I think we'll be ok.

It was actually pretty crazy man.. Imagine Northwestern without Rudolph... Byrnes without Shuler... you can't go into battle without your QB unless you have a two headed monster like the Gamecocks.. I'm just glad it's over.. OAN: I think Spurrier should consider putting Shaq in a QB sometimes next year.. he has plenty of wideouts.. but how much of an "X factor" would it be in this side of the SEC to have an RGIII type kid.. with the ability to run, hand off or pass with effectiveness? And WAYYYY beyond what Connor Shaw brings to the table.. which is awesome.. but you won't see Shaw make any 70 yd td runs.. I'm just sayin.

Well Shaw is actually injured now so it makes one think hmmm....

I'd be curious to know if Gamecock fans are throwing that idea around on the Gamecock boards. I see no reason not to try something like that.
Great points about Shaq Friday night. Seems to have made a big difference. I know a lot of Indian fans had a problem with play calling also. I do believe that the talent is there at Gaffney. Offense should be fine. The defense might be tricky against the best teams but I see no reason that Gaffney can't hang with anyone this year. Get the defense to create turnovers and Gaffney will be in every game I think.

I think we won't be able to tell how good/bad Gaffney is, or might be, until the Oct 18 game with Byrnes.

^^ absolutely! I had an issue with the play calling as well. I tell you what else.. the defense Friday night against Whiteside looked alot like the Byrnes defense against Copeland and Davis in the State Championship 2011.. Whatever works.

So what did you think of JJ Whiteside?

Great Size.. awesome athletic ability.. can't be the whole show.. if you had another wideout that was dangerous.. it would be Epic. Again, I hate to keep referencing the friggin game .. but the Championship where we only had Quinshad.. totally different beast of Shaq wasn't hurt.. that whole season the two wideouts.. pick your poison.. not to mention the possession receivers we had on that team. You basically rely on the runs of Keenan and the passes to Whiteside.. everybody knows what's coming.

Not to say that Desmond Geter Jr isn't a playmaker... he's bulky like his pop was.. I think you need another speedster that can stretch the defense a bit.
