Definitely comes down to DF-NA game. NA actually is playing defense this year to go along with their high powered offense. NA has been small on both sides of the ball for the past several years, but has size on the line of scrimmage that has allowed the offense to be much more balanced so far if not even a little more running than throwing. Offense led by junior QB Trib Reese who is attracting some D1 looks ( 6'3" with a rifle of an arm) who is accurate with the deep ball as well the short stuff. His main drawback is he's not very quick and lacks mobility in the pocket. This offense will score against anyone if the defense can get off the field and get them the ball.

The main problem in NA has been the inability to stop teams with power run games, spread option of Greenwood has given them trouble and of course the ground and pound of the Creek. I have been reading that Dutch Fork is running quite effectively this year so that will be where that game is decided. Much bigger this year in the interior with some very good athletes at LB so hopefully we can make enough stops to give the offense the opportunities to put points on the board. The strength of the D is the front seven and the jury is out on the secondary as we have not played a team yet with an effective pass attack.

Faced toughest test to date last week with 3A #4 Strom Thurmond who ran the zone read offense very effectively and held the ball for long drives but the defense stiffened in the red zone and made some big stops on 4th down and kept them off the scoreboard. I know they are a 3a school but they would take a lot of 4A schools to the woodshed. They are not DF or GC or NW but it was good to get tested early as I don't see another competetive game until DF at the end of the season.

Welcome! Good read here... thanks for the info. We don't get much from Region Four or Region Five! It's good to have some first hand knowledge!

If the brackets fall the right way, you may not until you run up against Northwestern... then, I can assure you, you will see an effective pass attack!

Can't say that I see one either unless maybe, possibly, Lexington is getting back to form... I think White Knoll is smoke and mirrors and a weak schedule.... I'm just not sure about Lexington yet.

Until Dutch Fork can learn to stop the run and punch it in on offense from the 1 yard line it will be tough to beat upper-teir teams. It was a rough night in Goose Creek last Friday. Really frustrating losing the starting RB in the first quarter and really frustrating not finishing drives. Hopefully the defense will get it together over the season.

Anyone's opinion change after the Foxes loss to Irmo in OT Friday night. Definitely going to drop in my rankings, but were they just flat emotionally and physically from the showdown in the swamp. Irmo had not really been that impressive up til then had they? They barely slipped by Aiken the week before after falling behind 19-0 to the Hornets. To be fair that's their only game I have any knowledge of so they may be better than I thought. Still see Dutch Fork rolling into The Nest at 4-0 and the region crown being decided that night, I just might see NA as more of a favorite than I did before.
