Who knows maybe wren was over looking them, and as cocky as they are that would not be shocking. Maybe they had one of those off games and weren’t sharp. They were also on the road . As far as FC goes its funny because a week ago I was hearing how athletic they and Chester was. It was 34-0 Daniel after the first play of the second quarter. Maybe I’m over rating wren . We beat them badly and the score doesn’t indicate how bad it should’ve been. It was 30-10 . We screwed the pooch on play calling 3 times inside the 10 getting no points. The one Td the got we hit the receiver in stride inside the 20 and the receiver pops the ball up and the wren lb is gifted an interception and takes it back for a score.

Didn’t y’all scrimmage eastside in preseason

To give you an idea we played them for a half and won 49-7
For whatever that’s worth at this point.

Had to chuckle a little. Maybe I'm assuming you haven't seen NW this year, and assuming with incomplete information will get you every time. But the fact that you stated Dorman would move at will against NW's defense is a huge clue that you haven't seen NW this year. NW's starting defense is very stingy.

And don't be shocked if Dorman gets lit up for 5 or 6 passing TDs. Their offense has really started clicking the last few weeks and will certainly test the Cavalier pass defense.

I expect a real slugfest.

I have been, for one, on the Trojan Train all season. I picked them to win every week, including the "Purple Bowl" against Ridge View in their opener. I am picking Dorman this week, not because I think that the Trojans will be overmatched, outcoached, or out schemed, but because I happen to think that Dorman is just a tad bit better all around. I see this as a 7 point, or less, game with the Cavs making one more play than Northwestern. Congratulations on a great season, and if I had my druthers, the Trojans would win this one.

Trojans have a great shot to knock off Dorman, mainly because they (Cavs) are a one dimensional offense. They can run and run well but have not shown they can throw that I have seen

NW can load the box and make Dorman throw

On offense, NW definitely WILL throw on Dorman. Should be a great game with special teams being a factor. Don't forget, NW has a kicker that has made a 50 yard FG this year

Not basing it on seeing Northwestern is the only way I can do it, because I haven't actually "seen" the Trojans, just looked at reports and stats and I've seen Dorman. The main reason I say they can move at will is what I've seen at the Offensive Line for the Cavs. Remember the be TONKA trucks when we were, well when I was a kid, not sure about you. They towered over my other play trucks. That is what I think of the Cav's O Line. Big, mobile, and sturdy! Top notch RB, that I think it already committed to Virginia Tech. If you stop their run game, you will be in the game. They can pass; but with the control of the game with the run, they don't rely on the pass as much.

It will be difficult, but not impossible, to hang 5 or 6 touchdowns on Dorman. I don't mean to imply that Northwestern is second rate by any means, just that just as we have seen what Dutch Fork has done recently, keep in mind that the team they have beaten in Columbia on more than one occasion has been Dorman. Dorman has been in the Final Four as often as Slicker has eaten a bag of boiled peanuts.

Wolverine legend I was trying to be nice to you man . I think I described what would happen to a T . Just size and depth my man . I saw a team that beat y’all by 30 tonight at Chapman and we were kind of laughing about their size and depth. There are some new or maybe I should say some old school 3a teams back on the block and if they wind up staying there it’s going to tough to beat them.

CLASS 5-A QUARTERFINALS
Gaffney 235.3 T.L. Hanna 222.6 6
I personally think 6 points is a little low. If Gaffney plays up to their full potential, this could be a little more like 14 to 21 points in favor of the Indians. Now if the Indians are still happy about knocking the Rebels out and maybe thinking about how unfair it is that they have to go to Dorman next week.... then it may be a knock down drag out that comes down to Gaffney's ability to shake it off at the half. I think the Indians will be focused and ready and will take things seriously from the opening kickoff.

I haven't heard anything from the game yet, but it appears that T L Hanna took things seriously from the start and Gaffney had to rally to get things close. Congrats to T L Hanna and for the Injuns, you had a great season and were a play away from the Upper State Championship Game again.

Dorman 233.4 Northwestern 215.8 9
Dorman is favored and by all rights, should be favored. No one really thinks the game will be this close. Dorman will run at will against Northwestern and will shut down the Trojan offense. The game will be over by halftime. Well, I can understand why they would say things like this about Dorman; I mean they are a solid team, great coaching staff, no real weakness in either aspect of offense, defense or special teams, and they do have the experience of "been there, done that!" So am I one of those who think thoughts like those above? Yeah, I have to admit that I'm on that list..... but no team playing this late in the season can be taken likely by any one except a fan.... go back and read what I said about the coaching staff at Dorman, and I can assure you, those guys are preparing like they are playing the #1 team in the State on Friday.

Looks like the Trojan fan AllCrimson71 got his wish as it sounds like it was great from the opening kick. I really felt that Dorman would take control with a key turnover late in the first quarter or early second quarter, once the opening jitters were gone, and win by a couple of scores. Congrats to the Trojans.

Dutch Fork 272.9 Carolina Forest 244.8 14
Lot of folks are thinking this game will be one of the toughest games the Silver Foxes have had this season. I am going to let some of you lower state guys fill in some details but I'm only going to say two things:
1 - Dutch Fork is still the team to beat and I don't know if it will happen at all, let alone this Fridayy
2 - Carolina Forest has been moving up the ladder of success these past few seasons and a win Friday, at Dutch Fork puts them firmly in the "team to beat" position and I don't think it is time just yet.... 14 would not be enough for me!

I have to say, Carolina Forest earned some respect last night, but moral victories are not a part of football. After a couple of days, they can focus on the positives that they will take from this game and move forward toward for next season. They have gone from a team that was only expected to win a couple of games, to a team that has become a serious contender.

Sumter 245.3 River Bluff 229.7 8
Raise your hand if you had River Bluff over Fort Dorchester.... Now raise your hand if you see River Bluff doing it two weeks in a row. I'm not thinking about joining that list too quickly; but then I remember Byrnes went to Sumter and beat an undefeated Sumter team & then remember that last week's big win was at Fort Dorchester so .... maybe River Bluff can pull it off two weeks in a row? Nah, I'll stay with Sumter.

I think I've heard more about almost every team in the playoffs than Sumter. Quietly going about their business, now they will finally have no choice but to be in the spotlight as they prepare for Dutch Fork. I'm going to say that most folks will only have them in the spotlight as "the next team that will lose to the Silver Foxes. I mean, the only beat River Bluff..." But to that, I say, didn't River Bluff beat Fort Dorchester on the road the week before? Don't overlook Sumter!
