hey I've seen it done before and it worked
coaching in a game and the back up qb had to go in. He could not get the play from the coach, so the coach said "you call it"
went down the field and scored:)

Re: Thoughts on Summerville HS and Fort Dorchester moving forward?
Yes, Brent LaPrad moved over from Defensive Coordinator to Offensive Coordinator. Plus Fort put in a new Defensive Coordinator Bobby Floyd. Obviously, they struggled a lot more this season with the changes but my biggest concern for the future of Fort D is how much longer Steve will coach. Some believe that he is chasing another State Championship which is every coaches dream, ask all the coaches that face Saban and Sweeney. Unfortunately the same happens in most all sports there is that era of a great coach or player who dominated.
I think the loss of Rafferty may have set those plans back still yet. Father time is ticking for Dorchester and teams like Summerville have just begun with Rafferty and maybe even West Ashley. Who knows if Joe Call hadn't left Summerville Rafferty might have been the next Head Coach at Fort.
Slick won't agree but Berkeley would be competing for a State Championship every year if they would play in AAAA. They play tough but have depth issues and can't compete against the Dutch Forks and Dormans.

All 3 of the Dorchester Co schools are under the Gun to get a State Championship inDamefan wrote: ↑Wed Nov 18, 2020 9:07 pmYes, Brent LaPrad moved over from Defensive Coordinator to Offensive Coordinator. The next 5 years as the next High school should be completed in the Jedburg area in about 4 years.
The new redistricting lines should be interesting.
Don't be surprised if Fort drops down a classification for a couple of years.

As fast as summervilles building up .it would probably effect the ville more than us .Realistically most of the talent base won't ve affected. I could see the ville losing 800 plus students and droping to 2000 give a bit.wave 80 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 12:23 pmAll 3 of the Dorchester Co schools are under the Gun to get a State Championship inDamefan wrote: ↑Wed Nov 18, 2020 9:07 pmYes, Brent LaPrad moved over from Defensive Coordinator to Offensive Coordinator. That area is booming with housing development.
Hell the ville may not lose much.
We wont lose many . 2 to 300.
I doubt from wescot on up will be affected.
Maybe some on Ladson rd.
Thats almost the line anyways .
Yall can have the apartments they are building off palmetto parkway at patriot. Probably a few thousand units.
We have 2200 students give or take we would have to drop past 1700 to go to 4A
Compaired to 3200 at the ville give or take.
I doubt you will get any if they take up to 1k we will be the same student population .plus 3 or 400 from housing minimum .worst case the drop us both to 2000 k
Then you lose 1400 gain 200 from us.the new school has 1600 to 1700 students .
Re: Thoughts on Summerville HS and Fort Dorchester moving forward?
If you are referencing to the Nexton area that is zoned Berkeley County. The plan out there is to build their own High School as that area continues to develop just like they have plans to build a middle school. It will affect Cane Bay and Berkeley, not Summerville if that is where you are speaking. Also, the Ponds is zoned for Ashley Ridge. I am moving out to Legend Oaks in 3 weeks so I can be closer to Slick and play more golf in his neck of the woods!Fortfor5 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 2:00 pmAs fast as summervilles building up .it would probably effect the ville more than us .Realistically most of the talent base won't ve affected. Re: Thoughts on Summerville HS and Fort Dorchester moving forward?
Wow. Thanks for all the info guys. I didn’t realize the districts were going to be changing in the next few years. That’s seriously something to consider.
Re: Thoughts on Summerville HS and Fort Dorchester moving forward?
You should be fine.
Dorchester 2 has the land and are already having pre Construction meetings..
But the redistricting and the opening of the new school is at least 4 years away....
Walmart is building a new warehouse off hwy 78 at the Ridgeville exit.
And the school district is anticipating that area to explode with Homes within 10 years...
But at the opening of the new school maybe moving some of the students towards the new school.
The issue with Fort is they are at the eastern point of the school district. And getting buses up and down Dorchester Road is an issue.not to mention in the new 4 high school district will be the further most school from the other 3.
So they probably need to open some space for local growth
And move what the can back towards the other 3 schools.
The school district has already showed that opening of new schools they still keep the larger attendance district going to SHS. SO I doubt that will change....
The other indicator is with the commitment to put money into the stadium and they just completed a new weight room last year...that SHS will still be the flag school.

Growth is crazy.
The state has more land purchased near the walmart site also. Aswell as all over the state.id expect in the next year there will be a announcement. Of one or more major companies to be opening distribution centers currently we have two of 20 major retailers
Nationwide .we are aggressively pursuing several more.
The ceo of the port isnt playing around guys a beast at bringing companies and work to the state in general.
It's a love hate .good paying jobs are great but it brings growth and congestion we meed infrastructure like a decade ago.in a few years im looking past i 95
For residence .
Our area is about to explode in population in the next few years.
Ladson rd area jedburg have attracted smaller companies.
Big tracts near ridgeville are waiting aswell.
I saw some of the plans.its absolutely crazy.
Sports aside hope the infrastructure gets going.
Or we wikl all have 6k student highschools around here
