AC Flora 41 South Pointe 14

Post by Woodshed »

No surprise here, Flora continues to roll. These guys have the athletes to win it all in 4A this year. Because of the name and tradition of SP this score may shock some people but Flora has been doing this all year. Been averaging over 42 points per game and over 30+ point margin of victory

I'm not surprised. Cheating refs and clock operators will only get you so far it seems. I'll bet flora probably should have scored 60 but the home team refs and the clock manager kept it in the 40s.....

As one above said, not a surprise to those paying attention. AC Flora has an excellent team. And South Pointe isn't the absolute killer they used to be. You could see it starting to happen last year.

When Daniel broke their streak at the corral two years ago I knew they were done
They were the fresh new face in a growing area and ripping the Trojan and bearcat players away. Then Straight ups and leaves after the game and with Catawba and legion opening that talent pool is going the other way. They may recover but I think they will need to move down a classification to do it.
I can tell you from experience that when you have a juggernaut going you need to hold onto for dear life because once it goes . That edge is hard to get back.

Speaking of Catawba Ridge. What is up with those guys? Did they just recruit like crazy? New school that played some folks last year you never heard of. Now they could be tracking towards state. This just doesn't happen naturally as they dive head first into 4A football.

We didn't lose to SP because of refs. Can't turn the ball over. Especially once you're in the playoffs. That's why we lost to them. I'm sure we'll get it fixed next season. AC Flora is obviously for real. They took care of business.

I’ve been wondering the same thing. I guess it’s just another 2020 thing where a 2 year old school gets to fight for an upperstate championship. But still props to them for getting there.

Not dogging them. Apparently they have done an excellent job. But last year was their first year out, and playing a lot of private schools nobody has ever heard of, then the next year, they are one of the better teams in 4A. They must have lured a ton of transfers from the area. What makes it all the more surprising is that there isn't that much talent to be had in Ft Mill.
