Recruiting is a wonderful thing. Southside Christian has been a total non-factor in football for years until the last 3, or 4. Now, a 2A powerhouse. Another walking, talking, reason why the private schools, the Grays, Legions, Oceanside, etc., should be relegated to their own classification.
While I agree that recruiting schools should be a separate classification, 1A Southside Christian is a little different from Oceanside, etc. It is also a faith based school. So that brings up another question. Where does that leave them?

They are 1A...omg ...Size them up for rings now
Southside Christian moved down to 1A last year and won the state championship. They were in 2A for a few years and usually lost to Abbeville in the upper state championship by very little.
Nah that would be Saluda. Southside Christian only made it to the upperstate once since 2015. I remember the night they beat Saluda to go to the upperstate for the first time. It was cold, rainy, and miserable for a Saluda fan haha. Outside of that year and last year, Saluda has been to the upperstate every year since 2015.

Because of the great success of Abbeville, people don't really mention how good Saluda has been. If it weren't for A'town, Saluda would've won 3 in a row from 2015-2017, to add to the one they actually did win in 2019. I firmly believe this as the lowerstate is no competition for Abbeville, Saluda, or Gray. Maybe even SSC too, even though they have since dropped to 1A

Actually, SSC was 3-1 against Saluda, all very good games. But Tigers got the ring in 2019. Good luck this year.

Didn't say they didn't beat us. Just said they didn't make it to upperstate title game like the guy before had said. Saluda did go 1-3 in consecutive seasons to SSC (not our best years), but they only beat us once in the playoffs that I can remember. That would have been their only upperstate championship appearance to my knowledge. Good luck to you guys also!
