2022 Daniel Lions Schedule

Post by stretch »

2022 Schedule

8/19 Greer
8/26 @Easley
9/2 BYE
9/9 Hart County
9/16 Pickens
9/23 Riverside
9/30 @Walhalla
10/7 West-Oak
10/14 @Seneca
10/21 Pendleton
10/28 @Crescent

Interesting schedule, nice to see Greer and Pickens back on the calendar. Easley like normal week 1 followed by an early BYE. Hart County comes to town and that’ll be a fun game to see they have some big athletes over there in GA. Riverside on the schedule we haven’t played them since I think 2007 or 08 in a playoff game. Then our region play which will more than likely be a cakewalk to the #1 seed. Can’t wait for this upcoming season for my Lions hoping for more success.

I hope so Onion. A lot to replace on both sides of the ball but we’ll see who steps up in spring practice in 2 months.

The Six Mile-Central Megalopolis will hang 50+ on everyone on this schedule, save maybe...maybe, Grrrrrrr and Hart. They may hang a hundred on West-Oak.

Make no mistake about it this is a soft schedule. I wanted us to go play Gaffney or Dutch Fork or someone on that level so this team can have experience against a solid team come playoff time. I think Coach Fru just wants the easy wins for his career record and so we can continue to have the longest win streak in the state.

Stretch I agree Fruster is in for wins. Easy schedule and waited to fill schedule after Dutch Fork and some of the better teams filled their schedule. But in 10 years when you look back and they won a 3rd state championship in a row and go 15-0 we won’t be talking about who they played. But right now we all know he’s dodging hard team just like he has the last 2 seasons. I mean Easley is a money game I get that one but could have played Dutch fork, Spartanburg and really seen how good his team is against tough competition.

It does look soft to an outsider. Dutch Fork's schedule may not be the toughest in the state but it's no slouch.

@ Hough NC 8/16
@ Spartanburg 8/26
@ Creekside GA 9/3
@ Stratford 9/9
North Augusta 9/16
St Frances MD 9/23
White Knoll 10/7
Chapin 10/14
@ River Bluff 10/21
@ Lexington 10/28

I wouldn't bet money on the best team on DWD's schedule (probably Greer or Hart) beating the worst team on DF's schedule (probably White Knoll). I do believe the Daniel staff could have found some tougher competition. I understand the cost and travel etc...but there is Hanna, Byrnes, Spartanburg, Dorman etc. all a short drive away. Steel sharpens steel.
