Back home and fully thawed out from our trek to the Artic Circle. I can't believe what a well-played game that we saw tonight. Congratulations to The Powdersville Patriots on having a super season and making the State Championship game. Thomas Williams is a beast of a High School Football player. The Patriots were extremely well coached and more than ready to play tonight. Their fans were loud and boisterous, and the atmosphere at Charles W. Johnson Stadium was electric.

With temperatures dipping into the mid 30s in the 4th quarter, I honestly expected to see more mistakes. Powdersville punted only once and turned it over on downs once. Each team had one fumble lost, and every possession other than those mentioned, ended in scoring plays, save the kneel down at the end.

Beaufort's Kacy Fields had 219 yards rushing on the night in addition to a 94 yard kickoff return for a Touchdown. Colton Phares added 198 rushing yards for Beaufort. Our offensive line was the difference in this game. Since moving Fields to RB in our 4th game of the year, the Eagle offense has just been unstoppable.

I am going to personally enjoy the rest of the State Championship games this weekend. I am exhausted from the raw emotions. Thank you to everyone for congratulating this Eagle Team. They worked hard from the time of the loss to South Pointe in the Championship game last year, to get back and have the opportunity to redeem themselves. Mission accomplished. Enjoy your triumph young men, you have earned it.

Hate it didn’t go our way but that’s the way the game goes. Congrats to the Eagles on a great season. #10 & #2 were a lot of fun to watch. Their OL was just too much for us. My son is a Sr so tonight was his last game. 6 yrs ago as a MS player I thought it’d be a while before this day got here. Man did it really fly by. Very proud of my boy #71 and the rest of the Powdersville Patriots!

Thank you, and Powdersville has nothing to hang their heads about either. Beaufort was exactly where you are tonight, last December 2nd after losing to South Pointe in the State Championship game. Some hard work, dedication, and great coaching, can land you guys right back here next season. We were all witness to a very high level game tonight. Best of luck to you and your son.

Congrats BEF!!! I know you probably did not sleep last night . Happy for you and the Eagles. 0 pass attempts for the game was crazy but that impressive O-Line, QB on the ground and your RBs were all that was needed. 2022 State Champs!!! Congrats!!!

Being an old lineman I enjoyed the line play of the Eagles. The Eagles have two of the best running backs I have seen in a long time. Number 10 was a work horse when you needed yards. Your defense flew to the ball. Great effort by both teams.
