From what I heard, interviews started this week. District admin and School board are heavily involved. 2nd round of interviews coming up include Woolbright, Herron and one other - tight lips on the 3rd candidate. No idea who that is just said he is good. Also heard Devonte Holloman applied. Devonte got a raw deal at South Pointe in my humble opinion.

I think Clover has alot to offer. Love covering games over there. Great stadium and press box. The place is packed on Friday night regardless of win/loss record. School administration is very good to work with. Very accomodating.........

It will be interesting to see the impact of the 2nd Clover high school coming online in what- 2 to 3 years.......

3rd Candidate is probably somebody from one of the Fort Mill schools since both the AD and the principal have ties there. Holloman did get a raw deal at South Pointe but I am sure it will come down to Woolbright or Herron because both have ties to Clover. It will be interesting to see how this pans out in the next few weeks as I am sure they will have somebody in place by the first to middle of next month.

bigeagle9797,

I called a friend to follow up on your comment about the 3rd candidate. He is just as reliable as Barry Byers was (Rock Hill Herald) back in the day. You are exactly right about 3rd coach. He confirmed what you just said. Thanks for sharing. I had no idea who it was until you narrowed it down.

I really don't know why but I just had a gut feeling that the AD and Principal might try to pull a fast one! I think the District and School board are going to have the final say on this hire and most of them are still living by the good ole boys system so that will help Herron or Woolbright land the job.

When will this hire be done? Are they holding on for more applicants or what's going on? It has been a few weeks since Lane resigned to take the Westside Job. Is the School Board going to approve the hire on Monday at the board meeting?

Herron is an interesting name. It appears with the move of Legion Collegiate Academy from SCHSL to the NC private school league they have given up on big time athletics. At least big time football. I’m sure baseball will maintain.

I think Strait is the guy.......What raw deal did Holloman get? Haven't heard about that. Only thing I heard was he didn't get certified in 3 yrs which he knew he had to

I guess the only coach from Fort Mill would be the guy at Catawba Ridge. Can’t see them hiring from Fort Mill of Nations Ford. Nations Ford is average on its best day. Fort Mill is a disaster. Not sure it is the coaches fault, but it is a mess.
