Great game by both teams. Hillcrest has a lot to be proud of, they played a solid game and their fans were behind them the whole time. The Rams are young and have a great future. It was just Sumter's time.

Defense gets a much needed stop on 4th down and its been a couple of games since Vince Watkins missed a FG so I'm counting on him to pull one out in the last minute.
Thought of this post when the last drive was happening. GREAT high school game. Wasn't sloppy, both teams executed, and it came down to what seems to be a great kicker.
Wish you guys luck vs Summerville!

Was there a good turn-out for this game? Hope Hillcrest had a good showing; wouldn't expect quite as many visitors to show.Letsgetcocky wrote:Great game by both teams. From what I have been told, the home gate was sold out. They certainly looked full from the other side of the field.rebelrooter wrote:Was there a good turn-out for this game? On the Sumter side, we eventually had a good turn-out. A lot of people arrived late because of traffic. My group left at 3:30 and didn't get into the gate until right at kickoff.
On a side note, we did have a quiet young man wearing a Mauldin warm-up jacket sitting right behind us. He looked to be about 6'0" and had shoulder length dreads. He didn't clap for either team, he just watched. I can't say with 100% certainty that it was Dre Massey... But it sure looked like him.

It was as close to a sellout as I have seen at a game this year. I was impressed with the number in the stands for Sumter too. Great showing by you guys too.
I saw lots of Mauldin players at the game and afterwards.
