So Gray is going to host IMG next year, in the middle of what would be region play—when we don’t even know about realignment?! Makes a lot of sense.
The Dixie drive in at Greenwood.
I love that place; it was a meet up for old HS buddies when I was on the road and near.

My oldest boy, now big man but then little man, caused the who staff to pause one night.

Family was sitting on the stools together and little man only wanted French fries/typical toddler fare, and I had ordered my Dixie Cheese..... and there were lots of people, long wait for Dixie (3-5 minutes). Little man wanted to sit in Daddy's lap (a little tired, a little bit worried about all the people..)

Food comes and little man is in my lap, and in his typical way too deep voice for a 3 year old, "Daddy, I want a bite of that".... my sandwich.

He proceeds to gobble down my whole burger and then polish off his fry plate..... the whole staff was coming out of the kitchen to watch him eat that sandwich.

One little family tale for the ages.... Courtesy of the Greenwood Dixie.

I am 51.. I remember at the end of games at the reservation on the visitor sides they would be standing around selling ten for a dollar or sometime 5 for a dollar.

Everyone might not have scheduled like that but I can remember one week might have a region game and the next might not. It wasn't all the time. It just seemed more like a college schedule. I know in the late 80s Spartanburg opened and closed w Summerville. Seems like we may have played Chester pretty late one or two years.

And I'm fully aware that it may have happened less years than I recall.
I've been going to Spartanburg home games since 1983?? In 1993 I believe I started every home & away game every season until 2018 when my wife died... I've probably seen around 600 games and the majority with more than half coming in a row.

I stood in the rain , on the fence at The Reservation when Clyde Norris returned a Kick or Punt for a TD to win the game or tie it? That had to be like 84?? I played on that hill. I loved away games and it just stayed with me.
