Greenwood v Northwestern

I was hoping for more. Then I heard a couple key players were out this week. That’s gotta hurt.

Interested in the Greenwood thoughts on Greenville and Westside teams. It’s possible our path to Orangeburg is the same teams as last year. South Pointe, Greer and Midland Valley May have something to say about that of course.

They had Westside beat. Came in flat and stayed flat against Greenville. Was never in the game.. Porter did a good job prepping his team and they came in motivated.

GWD did not have Westside “Beat”. Game was close the whole time. Better team won plus WHS was playing without #5 at WR

Greenwood lead late in the game. They had an opportunity to win. You may not like my choice of words. It is what it is. Greenwood has no players going to D1 schools. No one like 5 as you say. They gave a good game against as you say a better team using less. Greenwood QB has potential, but he needs help to get him to the D1 level. More sure handed receivers and better in the trenches. None of these teams will beat NW.

What can we expect different from last years visit from Greenwood in Round 2?

Different offensive look, but probably same results. Just don't have what it takes to compete at the top right now. Hopefully it changes in the future. But not too distant future. We are getting older.

I was thinking the same thing a couple weeks ago. Will our generation ever see Greenwood competing at a high level again lol? I'm not even worried about this game. I live in the Charlotte area so It's an easy drive for me. This will be the first time I've seen them all year. I'm not sure what happened to the radio station. they used to stream online but I guess they don't now.

For Greenwood, if the coaches coach scared then the players will play scared. The players usually mimic their coaches. It's the coaches responsibility to get those players mentally and physically prepared for this game. If Greenwood makes one bad mistake, the coaches need to step in and motivate these guys to stay focus.

I would love to see a good game this year but our defense is trash when playing good teams. The coaches need to come out the gate coaching aggressively. We give up too many yards and sustain blocks too long instead of flying to the ball to make a play. We also allow too much space in the passing game on defense.

I would say the best team in 4A would be Northwestern, South Florence or Hartsville this year....with Westside, Greenville and Midland Valley looking in.

I agree on your QB, just a Sophomore if I am correct. Big guy and plays well and yes needs some WR that can catch the ball

Also agree, NW is a beast. IF WHS makes it that far that will be a tough challenge to say the least

You guys have a pretty good squad too. Lane is doing a good job. I definitely wasn't saying Westside isn't good. I said it the night Greenwood played there to my friends there, that somehow we had a chance to win; but Westside is definitely the better team. Even without 5. NW is very consistent. Can win any class in this state right now.
