Greenwood is following the Union county example, if you want a reference. Or more locally Ware Shoals.

It's not the head coach. It's not the assistant coaches. It's not anything in the school.

I've said it before, it is the changes in the community. And Greenweed is not alone with this phenomenon.
It could be. I guess it depends on what's changing. If you are talking about crime and so called gangs guess what. Anderson has crime, Spartanburg has crime, and so does Gaffney. Even Abbeville has bad spots. Schools still compete at the top. Watch the news and it isn't Greenwood on there the most with crime. It's usually Anderson or Spartanburg and Greenville too. Greenville is just much bigger and overcomes it better.

I agree with one of your statement. It's not the head coach but some assistant coaches need to evaluated carefully and see if they really want to be at Greenwood. Some of the assistant coaches don't know what they really doing during game time versus practice. Maybe they need to take an exam and be certified to coach or something along those lines.

First and foremost! I don't want to see anyone lose their coaching job but something has to change because the effort from them kids aren't there when they face a difficult opponent like Northwestern, Hanna, Greenville and etc. or adversity on the field. When mistakes like turnovers and penalties occur over, over and over there is a problem that needs to be fix. The players need to be more discipline and focused in. Maybe come up with a good strategy over the off season to help them fix those type things. I can accept losing but not in that fashion.

Northwestern is the best team in the state and it’s not even close. They are a well coached team also. I’d like to see them vs south Florence in the title game

NW was my choice to win 4A since I saw them last year in the Championship game. That hasn't changed. They've played a very tough schedule and have dominated most opponents.

SF lost the best player we've ever had to graduation, but have figured out how to continue scratching out wins. If we can continue to take care of business, we may give NW the rematch I suspect they want.

If Greenville comes in hungry, they will give Northwestern a heck of a game. Greenville have a lot of D1 talented players like Northwestern.

I've said this before...drive to Clinton and give Coach Fountain a blank check and full control of picking his staff even if that means cleaning house. Or, see if Lybrand at Beaufort wants to come home. He's been trying to get out of Beaufort and I think he's a former Dula player if I remember correctly. If it's a cultural issue good luck, that's def a tough task.

I doubt that Bear Bryant could have done much better against NW. unless he had better talent to work with.

I will say again. There is talent in Greenwood that isn't playing. Someone can get them to come out. Some coaches win no matter where they go. Tom Knotts has won everywhere he went. Dutch Fork used to not be good. Dula won everywhere he went and so did Cathcart.

I like your sentiments Band Dad. SF is the champion until someone proves otherwise. A rematch without Superman would be interesting. Lenore is may be the best HS football player SC has had in a decade, maybe longer.

This matchup with Greenville is interesting to me. What do the Red Raiders have that is different or better than last years version? I’m seeing a team that dealt with injuries, has highly recruited players, a reputation of “Getting” the best Greenville county has to offer in athletes then speaks out a field goal win over Greer, who by others testimony isn’t that great and need a referees blind eye to survive Indian Land in round 1. Not to disparage Indian Land, but they were the 4th best team in our region. They were good last year, Tyler Brown is showing that at Clemson.
