Greenwood @ Lexington

Post by GwoodEagle2k1 »

Greenwood didn't put up much offense last week because the O-line got handled by Dorman's D-line. Will it be more of the same this week or will Greenwood turn it around at Lexington?

Greenwood 14
Lexington 0

Final

The Greenwood defense and special teams continue to play at a high level. The key for me is that our wide receivers caught the ball much better this week when they had an opportunity than last week. Don't care how we win just win. Good job Eagles! And now region play begins. Won't be any easier. Keep Working

The defense played well. The offense played okay. When they pick up the pace with the plays they seem much cleaner and move the ball with ease. But for some reason they start slow and it looks to give the opposing defense time to get set. Same with last week's game. Picked up the pace and closed the gap on the scoreboard. Would like to see them start the game at that pace. Want to see more of the Desiray Christian kid. Looked good when they threw him the ball. All in all, an enjoyable game.

I agree with this. QB plays much better when they go at a faster pace. Seems like they're still trying to figure out their identity on offense. Right now defense is carrying the team. They have the players on offense, just need to iron out the wrinkles. Good win though.

Only thing I saw Friday night. We need to speed up the tempo and clean up penalties. We those things, we should be just fine going forward. Overall, great victory against a good Lexington team.

Lexington is OK. But they are nothing special, no matter the press in the midlands seemingly endless fascination with them. They will be fighting for fourth in their region at best.

That's fair
I can't speak for the Greenwood fan base but for me personally I'm just happy they're getting better. That's a game My Eagles may have lost last year. Still a lot of work to do but we're showing signs of improvement. Seems like liners finally getting the kids to buy in. Lexington is also in a region full of quality teams. There is also Dutch Fork.

I guess I can look at the bright side, we beat an in your opinion "ok" Lexington team so I guess that means Greenwood is a little better than ok :D. I definitely respect your opinions though.

I’d like to see Greenwood return to the status they once held as well. But Greenwood is a different place than it used to be a that affects things. Lexington? Their head coaching choice when Woolbright left was questionable
