Woodruff vs MVP, 10/18/2024

For a school that just recently came into existence, 6-0 isn't bad regardless. Imagine what it's going to look like the longer it's in existence.

They haven't played a single team with a pulse. They do this week.

So went back and pulled both teams schedules and

MVP
ACA 1-5
SSC 1-4
St Joe's 3-3
Crescent 2-3
ASHS 3-1
Chapman 1-6

Woodruff
Clinton 4-2
Fountain Inn 4-2
Emerald 2-4
Woodmont 1-4
Chesnee 2-4

So looks like Woodruff has a couple teams with winning record where MCP doesn't their best team right now is St Joes

What people has failed to realize is that their middle school went down on the road and beat the brakes off DF middle school, which I think we can all agree is by far the best football program in this entire state! So the foundation of the school is already set to be a dynasty and for them to already be 6-0 with most of their big-name players being juniors is BS to me! Woodruff tradition, toughness, will overcome the glorified upstate AAU team! Think MVP seen it last Friday night that this brand of football is different! It can't be brought! You got to be born with it!

MVP Varsity can do like Gray and Oceanside when they feel like some big-time football for the "prep" schools and let TK pay a visit. To their credit they wanted some and DF gave them both a dose. Like The Nature Boy said, "You can't be first, but you sure can be ....next!"

Sure looks like TK Lil silver foxes got a can opened up on their Lil tails by the baby stars so not so sure in a few years that wouldn't be the same on the Varsity level

I agree that MVP is not going to win this game , but disagree that Woodruff has more talent!

If you believe MVP is the more talented team but are not going to win, I am interested in your logic behind that belief.

My logic to this is this is a team that has only been in existence for 4 months and to be 6-0, over teams that has had 3-year starters, spring practices, summer practices, and to do mainly do it all on road games is saying something!

I have gone on record and been very vocal that I DISAGREE with the SCHL on these types of schools, and I will be pulling HARD FOR WOODRUFF the small town, that does it the right way! Every small community should be!

Well hopefully we win one for the good guys this week.

We all know how that ends -7th and 8th ringers win on all athletic ability- 12th graders in the TK system are savage. MVP would now and would then get whupped. In a couple years TK junior will be the starting QB… gunslinger. Good luck when he takes over at QB. Right now I would not bet a large sum against the DF JV team winning 3A state… They are loaded too. Homemade vs store bought lol

But back to the topic at hand. I am truly concerned if MVP wins Legend may need a psychiatric intervention… he will be eating crayons and rolling excrement into little balls. We need to all pray for a Woodruff win for legends sanity.

I honestly think this is a terrible matchup for Woodruff. Their defense gives up a lot of points. MVP does not. If MVP plays the first half like they do the second half, it’ll get ugly quick.

Everything says this will be a tough one to pick. I am a 5A guy but I have ties to Woodruff so I know the history and tradition of the Wolverines. I can assure you that they want this game for their own reasons; however, add in that they see themselves in the role of David vs Goliath in that the PRIVATE school vs the traditional small school, will that be the factor that pushes them to the win???

You haven't even seen us play. You are not qualified to speak. MVP was losing to 1-6 Chapman 9-6 with under 2 minutes to play in the 3rd quarter. I can assure you we are about a million times better than Chapman. We aren't undefeated for any reason. And yes our defense is actually very good. Especially against the run. And it is, again, FAR better than anything Chapman has.

If I'm wrong then so be it. I do not believe I am. If we win I do hope you will come back here and admit you were wrong but I doubt it.
