Rock Hill vs. Northwestern. Both Undefeated in Region.

Post by 5thqtr »

Not the same as it used to be post South Pointe.

I am happy to see Rock Hill beating the teams they should beat(no offense to those teams). It's one thing to lose to a better program; but RH had been losing to teams they had more talent than.

As for this game: I see a big Northwestern win!

Northwestern is on another level this year! Rock Hill - I think have settled down "on offense" and have some things cooking there. I have seen them since the Stallions played them and they are 100% better on offense. Their only chance in this game is if it is a track meet; and with NW that's not what you want to do. I don't know that NW has an answer for Malik Clarke though; so there is that.

Should be a good one for at least a half. What do you think? Am, I wrong? Do you see this being a tight game?
Choose to Lead or you should choose to "get out the way" of those who will lead!

Rock Hill does seem to have settled down some and has to feel good about their winning streak. Offensively, Rock Hill has some guys that can hurt you at the skill positions. Problem is those don’t block. Rock Hill O-line will be over matched at every position which will help the secondary for Northwestern. Some changes and improvements have been made there as well.

Defensively, Rock Hill has not really shown the ability to stop anyone. The games they are winning are high score affairs. I don’t see that changing compared to the last two seasons when Northwestern scored 89 and 56 with running clocks in both games. A shootout may be their best chance, but it likely will not end well. I would enjoy watching both teams play fast.

I’d love for this to be a good, clean, competitive game. I just don’t see it happening based on what I have seen this season from both teams. I’ve had the opportunity to see Rock Hill play Hartsville and Indian Land.

Will be a blowout. Saw RH escape with a win over Fort Mill who may be the worst team in 5A football. Maybe 4A as well.

On paper, this should be a victory by Northwestern by a lot.

In reality, I have seen strange things happen in this game.

Sadly, this is not the rivalry it was back in the 90's through the early 2000's, when 9000+ screaming fans would be there completely filling the stadium.

Northwestern will probably give up some points, but I just don't see Rock Hill's defense making enough "stops" to stem the flow of the Purple Wave.

As always, may NOBODY get hurt or let their teenaged emotions get away from them.

I'm thinking Wade Hampton and Stall save them that dubious honor!

Well, the signs from the experts would tell us that the undefeated Region Records are quite misleading and the real truth is that this is not going to be as close as some say.... but this is the very reason they call them RIVALRY GAMES. You know, "throw the records out the door", "it doesn't matter what they say" and all those other things we say in games like this. But I'm thinking this is a Duck game, no not the Oregon Ducks or even as I've heard Dunkin Ducks; I think this is a Duck in in that "if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck!" Northwestern has too much on both sides of the ball for me to pick against them. I'm not sure it will be 49-14 like Massey says, I Doodles may be closer to the margin.

Point taken. But to be grouped with that bunch says a lot. Fort Mill isn’t serious about football. Notice all the Greenville County schools in that group. Except for a couple schools that are serious on their own, the district could care less. It is a shame.
