Upper State Bracket:

5A Div 1: Byrnes
5A Div 2: T.L. Hanna
4A: Camden
3A: Crescent
2A: Ninety Six
1A: Dixie
While Ninety Six could upset Chesnee in round 1, they ain't beating Fairfield Central in round 2.

That game wouldn't be close at all.

I know I'm cheating here posting this in Round Two, but I really like the idea of putting the Dutch Forks and the Northwesterns and the Abbevilles to the side and saying, if the perfect storm strikes, who could make waves? Here's my 2 cents:

5A, D1: Cane Bay (I like quirky offenses)
5A, D2: Greenwood (I'm a Liner fan)
4A: Richland NE (I like their QB)
3A: Waccamaw (quirky offense)
2A: Saluda (Stewart Young is the most underappreciated coach in the state)
1A: Blackville Hilda (insane number of athletes for a school this size)

Of course, it'll be Dutch Fork, NW, MVP, Abbeville, etc, but it's fun to dream...

What does CB run?
Greenwood has a great defense but there QB play is horrendous
RNE is gene pool goldmine, but a commitment nightmare
Again what does WHS run?
Agreed
BH has always been a small school powerhouse

I believe Waccamaw and Cane Bay run some form of triple option. I love that stuff when you run it right.
I just like Greenwood and Chris Liner. That's where my bias is showing.
I love your description of RNE. Very apt.
I'm honestly surprised Saluda has held on to Stewart Young. Man's been there a good long while, and I'm surprised a bigger school hasn't come along and offered him the bank.
Blackville-Hilda is the best team in 1A, in my worthless opinion. Abbeville playing down to 1A stole one, maybe more, championships from that poor team. They are crazy athletic, and surprisingly well-coached for a school so small. It's a shame that Abbeville is, well, Abbeville.

Not sure why anyone would list White Knoll as a sleeper. They played for state last year. And there isn’t much of anything in lower state D2 outside of Irmo
