Re: Thanks Spartanburg Vikings
The only thing that slowed Spartanburg tonight was the cold and Manns front 7 for about a quarter.
I will give the benefit of the "bad game" but I wasn't impressed at all for a Greenville All Star team.
Spartanburg still makes too many mistakes.
Burke played well, very well but he over threw at least 2 maybe 3 long tds, we dropped 4? Interceptions. Those are mistakes you can't make against Dutch Fork.
I seriously doubt Knott's left 21-28 points on the field. Spartanburg easily left 21 points on the field tonight. This should have been a 56-3 game.
Maybe it was the cold? Or a combination of everything, holidays, etc...
It's gonna be a tough one next week.
Dreary place to play, the best team of the last decade or so.
I've said it before DF just doesn't make mistakes. They don't miss tackles, the execution is superb.
If Spartanburg can score 28-31 points I think it's a game but we will have to play way, way better.

He was not happy, looked to be a little jawing between a few Mann coaches near the end... probably just frustrated. He walked in like he was Belichek, he walked out quite differently.
He can coach, but like Hodge said on his coaches show. You just can't stick a team together and chemistry is instant. A lot of Spartanburg Seniors have been playing together since the 4th grade. Tonight it showed.

This gotta be the funniest post of the year! A Greenville fan/coach posting about recruiting!
But as far as the game, knew that the Freshman QB with struggle! The Mann defense looked like they had too much of grandma's sweet potatoes pie Burg Offense just had they way with them!
Now without doing like the GHS hater, the Transfers is going to be difficult with all what happened at the other schools. I for one think the SCHL only targets certain schools anyway! So with most of Mann studs being SR's , I can see them being back to being just the average G.Ville county school

Great game by the Vikings. I’m not going to beat up Coach Watson for doing what’s allowed to have a good team. This game turned when Spartan High ran the hurry up offense & JL Mann wasn’t prepared. There were numerous plays when JL Mann’s defense were looking towards the sidelines while the ball was being snapped. Also the long TD before halftime was deviating. Once #0 got hurt the game plan went to the freshman QB. Bryant played well but that’s a tough ask against arguably the best defense in the state. Burke was awesome tonight. He will have to connect on those deep balls next week. This game really could’ve been 63-9.
Re: Thanks Spartanburg Vikings
Earlier in the year when the burg played the fork they played ok with Rice and Linch and a few banged up players. They were on the 6 yard threatening to score until that lightning happened and ended the game.If not for the weather I think that game could have been a lot closer not saying they would’ve won but a lot closer.Noble Savage wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 5:33 amRed Raiders 02 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 12:53 amI am so happy ya'll humbled him lol he was walking around with his chest poked out all season then he was arrogant on the news yesterday saying his team expected to be practicing on Thanksgiving lol I'm glad ya'll put wood to his behind lolviking84 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2024 11:22 pmlol..They just faced a different team at a different level..Red Raiders 02 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2024 10:11 pmThanks Coach Shaw and Spartanburg High for humbling Scoot The Recruit Watson lol yes I love it

True before, but the days of GHS’s recruiting advantage left with Porter. Then whatever they had left got raided and left them with very little talent. I actually wonder if the powers that be at GHS told Shaw the true lay of the land in Greenville County when he was offered the job?NKOTB wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 8:09 amThis gotta be the funniest post of the year! They just assumed his last name would keep the players there. GHS will go back to being a basketball school! Good football players will go to MannDeputy wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2024 9:52 amTrue before, but the days of GHS’s recruiting advantage left with Porter.
