Northwestern vs IRMO
Northwestern and Irmo was a Clemson and SMU repeat, 34 to 31, field goal wins the game for NW.
Re: Northwestern vs IRMO
Instant classic. You could tell it was going to be a game that came down to who had the ball last. Outstanding seasons by both teams.

Truly a great game. I would think football fan without a vested interested would have loved watching that game. The only bad team on the field was the officiating crew. We all know that officiating is not good, we at least complain all the time, however this crew was particularly poor and gave Irmo a ton of opportunities to stay in the game in the first half alone. They were better in the second half I guess.
Glad we overcame that and the two early fumbles. One was arguably incomplete, but no review is what it is in high school.
Again, a great battle for 48 minutes by both teams.

Preach on Trojan! The DF-Summerville game had 20 penalties- 10 per side. Crazy. Officiating was not good. Took them a 45 second huddle every flag to figure out what to call.NHSTrojan wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2024 9:33 amTruly a great game. I very much enjoyed the game, and I didn’t have any vested interest except, for another state championship title win for Football City USA, but it did feel like Deja Vu from last week’s ACC championship game. I think that when they were having the state championship games at Williams Brice the officiating was more fair than it is now.

I don’t want to lean on the refs too hard. Ultimately the boys on the field with the help of their coaches decided the game. Just wish they as up to the opportunity and bright lights as the kids.
Missing 12 men on the field, letting a player throw the opposing players shoe across the field and not calling a defensive delay of game, missing a receiver go out of bounds on his own and come back on the field as first touch seem like JV calls for most crews.
I don’t know if these are all star assembled crews or crews that work together all year. Seems to me a u it is the best approach.
