Why is his ranking funny? Because Dutch Fork isn't first?
How can someone put Dutch Fork above Northwestern? They both finished undefeated and didn't play in the regular season. Northwestern outscored its opponents 49-17 and Dutch Fork 39-7 (both by 32 points). So, their resume is as close to even as it can get. So, there is no way to say who is better. But, if forced to decide, how can you not put some weight on the Jamboree event when they played and Northwestern won.
To sit back and laugh at someone who thinks Northwestern is better is just plain silly. Similar resume and Northwestern won when the two teams scrimmaged, have to lean Northwestern. You certainly can't claim Dutch Fork is better as DF did LOSE to Northwestern in the scrimmage. Best case you have it to say the two teams are even.

If scrimmages counted they would be in the record. DF beat Byrnes by 8 TDs going away in a late pre-season scrimmage, but do I think DF is 8 TDs better, probably not. In a championship game with the game on the line- who would you bet the house on? DF or NW? NW needed a last second FG to pull out the game with Irmo...DF beat them by two scores. Are they close? Certainly, but would NW win? I suspect it would be about like the DF - Irmo game in my estimation. It's America...you are entitled to your opinion there Ghost Rider but if I started to use a one point homefield scrimmage win as my justification for a higher ranking, the entire board would shut me down, rightfully so. DF played the tougher schedule according to MaxPreps with 4 of their opponents playing in the semifinals, one winning a state title and one losing a title on a last second FG- and MaxPreps, CalPreps, Massey and Doodle had DF ranked higher.

Mikey just has to be different...ha.

We will see who is playing again after Thanksgiving next season.

This makes me laugh too! Dfold only likes his own version of football math. Doesn’t like the only head to head because it’s a scrimmage. Ok fine. You do like the common opponent of Irmo. I’ll go a different angle. 34-24 points scored. We can all play the same game.

In my estimation DF does likely hold a defensive advantage. Very good on defense. Trojans were good, but maybe not quite DF level. Arguable. Offensively, Northwestern a huge advantage.

By the way, I watched the Irmo DF game. Looked to me like Irmo didn’t care if they won or not. They wanted out safe. Never saw a team play that slow from behind ever. I thought it a strange strategy, but one they did not use against us. Why didn’t they care to win the DF game, who knows. The two 5A divisions set them up perfectly to have a bye and cruise in the low state. 5 points in the finals brings their quality into question.

It is an interesting debate for those of us who enjoy message boards. I’d actually be willing to do with two #1 like the old bowl system when the two best teams didn’t get to play each other. Too bad though, I think it would be a great game.

NW did not choke this season… somehow- I know you were as shocked as I was .

I’m ready for 2025. DF is coming… again.
I know everyone is tired of DF winning and it will eventually come to an end… eventually.
