NMB and GSF should be open. Wouldn’t be surprised if Socastee is open too.
Definately these. The NMB guy is a great guy. I've heard he's just old school with very long very physical practices and kids these days won't go out for those reasons.

Not sure what Martin thought when taking over GSF. They had a couple of years with really good talent, but that's never going to be a consistently winning school.

Carvers Bay should be open next year. He's a great dude, but that community does not put up with losing. From what I've heard it's tough getting a good staff of coaches over there.

Haven't heard much of the Florence schools. Marion HC isn't going anywhere. I'm pretty sure his mother is on the school board. But who knows. They got a new principal who loves to send teachers packing. And from what I hear, it's needed over there.

Good points. I’m not saying he’s on the hot seat. He’s getting another year regardless of what happens this year. I’m just concerned with the lack of progress on the field. It takes 3 to 4 years to get a program back to championship level but it doesn’t take that long to start winning games. There’s a progression each year usually culminating with a great third year. It takes three years to get 8th graders to varsity and that’s usually the biggest jump in wins. My point was if something doesn’t change offensively we’re going to be behind schedule.
When your QB doesn't know you have to kneel to run out the clock, I say your seat just got hot.

The more Greenwood wins, the hotter the seat at Emerald becomes

Dubose guaranteeing 5 wins was not a good look and disrespectful to their opponents

I don’t think it’s that. I think it’s the fact, Conway is a 5A school, doesn’t have any 5A non region opponents and has only beat a 2A school. Only winnable games probably left is St James and NMB, so best case scenario is 3-7. That’s a two win improvement with a win over a 2A opponent. To me, the standard that Conway has and how poorly the game played out last week, he’s definitely on the hot seat. We’ll see how the year ends. There is talent in Conway. Nobody is expecting a fast rise back to where the program was, but definitely better than this. I was wondering why they hired a guy with 1 year worth of head coach experience from a small 1A school. With that play last week, that showed his inexperience.

I hope the Conway coach can figure it out. Back in my day, losing to Aynor, Loris, Socastee and St. James would have been laughable.
Yup, I remember when SF was in the old 4A-6 region with Conway (Before 5A). I can count the SF wins I saw against Conway, coached by Chuck Jordan, on one finger. ....and that one came down to a goal-line tackle on the last play of the game.

We are sure glad to have his son, Cannon Jordan, as our Defensive Coordinator.

I really hate it for the kids. Especially Noah. He’s a smart kid and probably just wasn’t thinking. That’s where I blame the coaches for not reiterating what he was supposed to do after the timeout. That was the most embarrassing thing I’ve ever seen and I hate to say it but something that embarrassing happens on your watch you have no business coaching. The fact that everyone don’t know about is we had a 35-17 lead in the 4th quarter and the ball. Shouldn’t have even been in that situation.

Some seats are probably not just hot but on fire now! Unfortunately it has become part of the job. Any updates or news?

I mainly keep my eye on the north end of highway 17 and the Pee Dee. I've mentioned a few that should be hot already. I don't see very many more becoming hot around this area. We may have some shuffling from coaches getting different jobs, but the ones that I mentioned that are on fire I don't think have done enough to cool down their seat.

If Coach Shaw at Greenville doesn't make coaching changes next season his seat will be heating up at Greenville he needs to hire a new defensive coordinator next season and he needs to take over the offense like he did at Rabun County I know Coach Mahaffy followed him from Georgia but he ain't it at OC just bad play calling on both sides of the ball heck The Crane era wasn't this bad smh
