Yes tg78 I am glad you got to visit Viking Stadium with me and my friends. We are starting to gel at the right time. It was Dormans defense that help them win that game. That is from highlights I just watched on tv.
Re: Dorman @ Gaffney
Coach Morris has this team looking way better than they did in 2023. Dorman really can finish 7-3 this year, especially after the Gaffney upset. (Can’t lie and say I was expecting that to happen at all.) We have Eastside next week and a make up game against Boiling Springs and we could be well on our way. The only problem coach Morris has right now is fine tuning that offense of his because outside of the Grayson loss the defense kept the team in most games where they couldn’t score, a defense can only do so much until fatigue sets in. He gets a QB and some receivers these next few years and this team will be dangerous.ballman864 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2024 9:09 amRebel-Fan-74 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 10:46 amThe folks that I know are (at this time) saying things like:ballman864 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 10:30 amHow long do you think they give Morris at Dorman until that seat gets warm? I know he's a Dorman alum. Wonder what the vibes are over in Roebuck.
"He's got to have time to get his system in place"
"The offense and defense is in place at the "C" Team and JV so in a couple of years, we will be running full speed!"
So if they see 7-3 next year I think the seat is going to be comfortable. If they see 6-4 and a first round loss, there will be some grumbling, but only a warm seat. Less, and the seat will be really warm.
After two years anywhere now a days, you have to win! We don't seem to care about "time to install his offense and defense".
Yeah I think you have to give a high school coach at least 4 years to truly see if he can build or sustain a program. Let him get a full freshman class all the way through and see how they progress.

Yeah that Gaffney win cools that talk down a ton. I don't think anybody saw that upset coming. I like seeing the Cav's competitive again. Its good for upstate football when they're in the mix.
Re: Dorman @ Gaffney
Dorman being a good team is good for Upstate football- but "good" is subjective. Not sure how most feel about DF now being "upstate" football too. Some like it, some don't. I think all the Midlands would be "upstate", given the traditional geographic regions of SC- Upstate, Midlands, Pee Dee and Lowcountry. The Dorman win on the road at Gaffney, though a little surprising should not have come as a shock. Since region play has started the Injuns have not been "wowing" folks...struggle-town might be more accurate. OT wins against BS (which is not the monster folks try to make them out to be- Vikes were 3 scores better than BS) and the Rebs (they are gawd awful) and a one score win over Riverside. Injuns are 3 plays from being "Owen Region" now. Like the Dr. Pepper commercial... everyone off the Injun hype train. Region 2 is not the SEC of SCHSL in football any longer. Spartanburg is the best overall team in Region 2, at the moment. Have to wait and see.ballman864 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 10:43 amYeah that Gaffney win cools that talk down a ton. So there is a lot of truth to what you are saying yes we have been on the struggle bus but you have to look at the starters and injuries we have had. Im not making excuses but our starting running back is out and that has hurt the run game then you have the quarterback that gets suspended during the 2nd half of the BS game and then the hurricane hits and those 2 weeks off plus him missing the 1st half of the Byrnes game has done something to him. Idk how to explain what has happened exactly but there has definitely been something to get in his head and its like he has no confidence at all right now.DFOLDMAN wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2024 7:22 amDorman being a good team is good for Upstate football- but "good" is subjective. You never know what is going through a teenagers head....ever. Raised 3 sons and the teenage brain baffles me (I was completely normal as a teen myself...lol). Well, when I compare Gaffney QBs of recent years, Loftis is the benchmark...hard to measure up to that. Gaffney will probably figure it out by playoffs- they need to....teams like NW and Irmo are no joke.racincowboy02 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2024 8:27 amSo there is a lot of truth to what you are saying yes we have been on the struggle bus but you have to look at the starters and injuries we have had.
