293 INDIANS GAMES IN A ROW AND COUNTING!
Re: gaffney head coaching search
Personally, I'd most likely go with #2 and give him the time he needs to get them rolling. #3 obviously is proven but what does he do after 1 rough year? Are the Gaffney fans willing to give him time as an outsider? Does he go back to NC? Does he use Gaffney as a step ladder to go elsewhere? I'm also curious about #1. He's obviously Gold & Black to the core and some claim the offense isn't that great with him. But, here's the thing do you give him the chance to do his thing and see what happens? Same ol same ol or maybe he should've been given the chance way before now? Sometimes all these Assts need is to be given to keys and get out of their way.notabyrnesfan wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 7:43 am3 was nc coach of the year in 2023. his record speaks for itself. could hire him get ahead of the curve on the next big genius head coach and a home run hire and the biggest thing to happen to gaffney football ever while his floor is coach strickland level production.
2. was sc coach of the year in 2023. is from the tom knotts coaching tree is by all accounts well respected in the coaching community. took an irrelevant white knoll program and led them to a region title and state title game appearance and perhaps the most impressive thing is he got compliments and an endorsement from knotts who would run the score up on his on daddy if he had the chance.
1. lets call it moderate success as an assistant. a big checkmark points per game wise but the offense bogs down in the playoffs. lets be honest his resume isnt on the same planet as the first two i mentioned and we all know the only reason hed be hired is cherokee county politics and the school board pinching pennies!

All will make a different decision.1CANNON wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 9:04 pmI have a question?
Let's play "If you was"
If you was an employer looking to hire a new GM & had 3 potential candidates apply with the following experience
#1 candidate - little to no experience as a GM but several years as ASSISTANT to the GM & currently employed by you
#2 candidate - GM experience with medium to slightly positive results
#3 candidate - Many years GM experience with multiple employer's, highly successful results
Who would you hire & why?
What is your bottom line? None of us here have ever written that check, so those that do write those checks don't really listen to us.
As with most all thing sport, politics will swing the gate.

Right man and it could be hard to find a taller ladder..HoodRoad wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 11:11 amPersonally, I'd most likely go with #2 and give him the time he needs to get them rolling. #3 obviously is proven but what does he do after 1 rough year? Re: gaffney head coaching search
The only thing I can think of is he will be HC and Jim Solesbee be the OC! Which will great for Indian Nation
Re: gaffney head coaching search
If this becomes reality, will he lose his VP
position?

Re: gaffney head coaching search
I’m not saying he won’t hire an OC. No one knows but if he does I seriously doubt it’s a guy who has a checkered past with Gaffney High not to mention they were both in the same pool of applicants. Never say never I guess…
